This year has been one of those truly exceptional wedding years! I have been blessed with exceptional couples and one of a kind wedding venues. I first met Amanda and Tory and my office in La Jolla. Sometimes when I first sit down with a couple I try and imagine what their wedding would be like in my head. How will they be in front of my camera, will there be an epic dance party, how will the bridal party interact? Well needless to say Amanda and Tory’s wedding was one of my favorites of the year. The Omni La Costa Resort is a very special place to have your wedding. About 30 mins north of San Diego’s lies this special place, tucked back off the ocean in a small valley. The Omni Resort provides stunning views with a tropical spanish – moroccan feel.
As my team and I arrived as the makeup stylist was just finished with the last bit of touch ups on Amanda. She looked beautiful! Amanda’s mom helped her get into her beautiful wedding dress and before we knew it it was time for the first look. For those who are not familiar with this term, a first look is a chance for the couple to see each other before the ceremony in an intimate setting. This allows photos to be done before the ceremony and can sometimes be useful for the day of logistics of a hectic wedding day. It was time! We placed Tory in position at the bottom of this gorgeous set of stairs immersed with palm trees. The contrast of the green from the trees and the white, spanish style stairs were perfect for the background of our photos. Amanda slowly walked down the stairs and anticipation grew inside of Tory. We started taking photos and you could see how excited Tory was becoming hearing the sounds of our camera shutters firing away. Amanda finally reached him, tapped him on the shoulder and he turned around. The look was priceless as you’ll see from the photos. I would tell you how the rest of the day went but you’ll have to scroll down and see the photos to relive it. My words wouldn’t stand a chance in comparison to my photos.
